Watch and discuss with us the critically acclaimed film “ORIGIN” on Sunday, June 9 after worship from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay, the film ORIGIN chronicles the personal story of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson as she investigates a global phenomenon of caste systems while undergoing unfathomable personal loss and love. The film chronicles Isabel’s personal tragedies and losses along with her outer journey that crosses continents and cultures to explore institutional racism in America and its connection to caste systems found in other countries. We will watch the film together in the church parlor and discuss it afterwards. We will offer lunch while we watch the film. After the film Pastor Jeff and Joyce Hollingsworth will lead us in a discussion about it together.
