Feed the World

Dear Friends,

One thing that Royal Oak First is passionate about is feeding people. We take very seriously Jesus’ words, “I was hungry and you fed me.” In taking care of the hungry, we know we are taking care of Jesus. Our feeding ministry takes lots of forms at Royal Oak First. We enjoy potlucks and Supper Clubs with each other. We serve fish to nearly 2,000 people every Lent. And the center of it all is our daily lunch program that serves around 12,000 meals annually. Feeding people is one of the main ways we make Christ’s love real!

Every year the churches of our area come together and join forces to raise money for local, national, and international hunger programs by participating in the CROP Walk. CROP Walk is the main fundraising event of Church World Service, one of the world’s foremost hunger and poverty relief organizers. We can join their effort by participating in this year’s local CROP Walk.

The CROP Walk is a walk throughout the community where each walker has gathered pledges to support hunger relief efforts. A portion of the proceeds will stay right here at Royal Oak First. Please plan to participate in this year’s walk by either walking or by supporting your favorite walker (like me!!!!). This year’s event takes place on Sunday, May 6, at 2:00 pm. We will have information regarding the walk in the lobby after all of our services this week!

Please support us as we help feed the world!

Grace and Peace,
