Stephanie Yu has over 20 years of experience as a music director and freelance musician. She most recently served as the Director of Music Ministry at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica (Royal Oak, MI) where she oversaw a large ministry of mostly volunteer musicians and instrumentalists. During her tenure, she spearheaded a multi-year project to fully restore the 1936 Kilgen organ in the basilica- an instrument that is believed to be the largest tonally unaltered Kilgen organ in the world.

Stephanie graduated with degrees in organ performance from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. She has performed throughout North America and has had appearances with orchestras and at university conferences. She was on the adjunct faculty at Wayne State University and also was a staff accompanist. In addition to Wayne State, she has worked as a collaborative pianist at Sacred Heart Major Seminary (Detroit, MI), Temple Israel (West Bloomfield, MI), and as a rehearsal pianist at the DSO. She is a proud native of Metro Detroit and lives in Ferndale with her husband, Paul. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, and watching WWE.
