Music is an integral part of worship and life at ROFUM.

Music at RofumMusic at Rofum

The music program encourages worship leadership for all ages. There are a variety of ways to participate in the ministry of music at ROFUM.

Sanctus Choir:  Sanctus

Sanctus Choir at Rofum

(Adult) Choir meets every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:00 pm to prepare for worship. We sing at the 11:00 worship service every week. Sanctus Choir offers musical praises on behalf of the congregation that would otherwise not be possible because of this hour and a half of musical preparation. We add creativity, artistry, and beauty to worship services week after week.  If you love to sing, you are welcome to join us!

Carillon Ringers:  Hand bell Choir meets every Thursday night at 6:30 (unless noted by the director otherwise.) We perform periodically throughout the year for worship. The ability to read music is required.

Orchestra: The ROFUM Chamber Orchestra occasionally plays as a support to the congregation in hymn singing. Currently we have timpani, trumpet, French horn, violin, viola, cello, and flute. Instrumentalists are welcome to join us.

The ROFUM House Band: This band plays for the 9:00, and occasionally the 11:00 worship service.  We accompany the congregation on the songs of faith, and perform solo.

Our Organ: The pipes of the organ are in side chambers at the front of the sanctuary, with a traditional style console.  It has three manuals (keyboards), 4 divisions, 43 stops, 35 ranks, and 2050 pipes.  The manual compass is 61 notes.  The pedal compass is 32 notes.  The organ was renovated in 2007 by the Schantz organ company.  The organ is used every Sunday at the 11:00 worship service to the glory of God.

Youth Choirs: The importance of music at ROFUM is shown in our commitment to our Youth Choir Program.

Holy Cow: Wednesdays from 5:45 – 7:30* pm

Holy “Cow” stands for “Church On Wednesday”, and is a mid-week gathering for youth and adults that includes a meal which is served from 5:45 – 6:45. Pre-school through 5th grade youth attend choir rehearsals, as well as spiritual formation classes. There are adult education opportunities as well.

Preschool and Kindergarten: children (Beginner’s Choir) take part in music exploration activities from 6:30 – 7:00 and sing several times a year in worship. Age-appropriate bible study activities are offered from 7:00 – 7:30.

Treble Choir: First through third grade children have class from 6:30-7:00 and rehearsal from 7:00 – 7:30.  Age appropriate songs are taught along with tone production and basic music theory, and the choir sings in worship once a month.
