The Welcome Inn Work Day – Saturday, October 17 – POSTPONED
Hello Everyone,
We have some really exciting news to share about The Welcome Inn!
Thanks to the generosity of Oakland County and private donors, The Welcome Inn is expected to receive $300,000 in funding to install a new sprinkler system! This is an incredible blessing that will help ensure the safety of everyone who walks through their doors.
And that’s not all! The kitchen is also getting a much-needed makeover, complete with renovations and new appliances that will help The Welcome Inn better serve our neighbors.
With all of these wonderful improvements underway, The Welcome Inn’s opening has been moved to December 1st.
Unfortunately, this means we will need to postpone our upcoming Work Day scheduled for Saturday, October 17. While we are disappointed that we won’t be gathering to lend a hand as originally planned, we couldn’t be more excited about what these improvements will mean for The Welcome Inn and the people they serve.
But don’t worry, there will still be plenty of opportunities to help! As we get closer to the December 1st opening, we will be planning another Work Day to help get everything ready to welcome our neighbors. Stay tuned for more information!
In the meantime, if you have purchased items from The Welcome Inn’s Amazon Wish List, please feel free to drop them off at the shelter. Someone will be there to receive your donations.
I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, generosity, and willingness to serve. It has been such a blessing to see our faith communities come together, building relationships and working side by side to love and care for our neighbors.
While our plans may have changed a little, our mission has not. We are still called to love our neighbors, and together, we are making a difference!
Thank you again for being part of this incredible community. I look forward to seeing everyone at our next Work Day!
Blessings on your day,
Pastor Jennifer Tripoli
