Consecration Sunday is Coming
Over the next few weeks, you’ll be hearing more about Consecration Sunday, November 8. We’re sharing this with you now because we want everyone to have time to think and pray about what God may be calling you to give in support of the life and ministry of Royal Oak First in the coming year.
At its heart, Consecration Sunday is about more than creating a church budget or paying the bills. It’s an invitation to think about generosity as part of our faith—a spiritual practice and a response to all that God has given us.
This year, our Compass Team has chosen the Consecration Sunday Stewardship Program to help guide us through that conversation. The program encourages each of us to prayerfully consider our giving and to ask a simple question: “What percentage of my income is God nudging me to give?”
There is no one right answer to that question. Giving is personal, and each of us comes to it from a different place. What matters is taking time to consider it intentionally and prayerfully, and to see our generosity as one of the ways we live out our faith and participate in the work God is doing through our church.
On Consecration Sunday, November 8, we will have an opportunity during both worship services to make our financial commitments to Royal Oak First for the coming year. Our guest leader, Pastor Brad Bartelmay, will share a brief message of inspiration and guidance before we make our commitments privately as an act of worship.
