Spring is finally here and the early blooming flowers are up – crocus, snow drops, daffodils and tulips. The leaves are just bursting and if we get the right combination of rain and heat, they will all blossom out overnight. I’m especially looking forward to this happening because I missed all of spring last year while I was recuperating from my leg and shoulder injury. Now that the weather is warmer, I hope you all have time to sit on a porch and see the neighbors you may not have seen all winter. I enjoy seeing all the dogs go by and meeting their owners. From time to time I receive requests from people who want to come to church but don’t have transportation. Currently, I am looking for someone who attends the 11:00 a.m. worship service who would be willing to pick up a person who lives in the Lincoln and Troy St. area of Royal Oak. If you are willing to provide a ride, for this person or anyone, please give me a call. I’m hoping to start a list of names of folks willing to drive and another list of folks who need a ride. I have received a few responses from my last column suggesting people give us names of contact persons for emergency situations. This is really important for those of us who live alone. Also, remember to call us when you go in the hospital. We can’t call on you at the hospital if we don’t know you’re there. If you are unable to make the call, you can ask someone at the hospital to make the call for you. One last word – When it gets so hot you can hardly stand it, don’t complain; think of how cold it was this past winter! Love and God bless, Peggy Gill
